i am trying to find references to a book i purchased yesterday. STAN is the title by Fred Lawrence Guiles. Printed by M. joseph in 1980,ISBN 0 7181 1908 8. A picture of STAN and a donkey on the front. Loads of pictures inside. Is it a scarce book? Any info would be appreciated.

Recently went to a packed Birmingham Town Hall where a silent Stan and Ollie film was accompanied by Nigel Ogden on the organ.It was followed by a Buster Keaton movie and the whole event was magical.

I MET STAN LAUREL WHEN HE LIVED IN SATA MONICA CA..I WAS 16 AND REMEMBER EVERY WORD HE SPOKE..I SAT IN AWE...IS A FAN CLUB/TENT ANYWHERE NEAR PHOENIX AZ..I THINK MY SISTER AND I HAVE WATCHED EVERY FIL..STAN GAVE ME RWO AUTOGRAPH PICTURES OF HE AND OLLIE..AFTER LEAVING I DO NOT THINK I WASHED MY HAND FOR DAYS..I AM PLEASED TO FIND THE SITE AND HOPE TO HEAR FROM ONE AND..BEST REGARDS FOR THOSE WONDERFUL DAYS AND THE FACT THAT THEY LIVE ON IN MY HEART.

I absolutely love watching L & H. I think the comedy is still as relevant and funny today as it was then, it is so simple but really effective. Stan comes across as the hopeless one, yet Ollie always seems to come off worse!!! Classic viewing

I just got the 21 box set and was hoping to see some of the cameos (Hollywood review of 1929) and lost films (rogue song, Hollywood party, pick a star). Are these available anywhere?
