Midnight Patrol - Preservation

A new safety 35mm dupe negative and fine grain were manufactured in 1994 from a nitrate silent lavender and a dupe soundtrack. These elements are now safely stored in the lower vault of what was formerly the National Bank building.

Finally there is not, nor was there ever, any scripted or filmed material involving Laurel & Hardy's "ghosts" for a possible alternate ending to THE MIDNIGHT PATROL. This rumor originated in England, possibly stemming from a replaced title on a BBC television exhibition print containing the last few frames fading out from another subject. What else could it be? Positively there was no ghostly resurrection of Officers Laurel & Hardy in any version of THE MIDNIGHT PATROL ever contemplated or issued.
