Jam session between scenes filmed for JITTERBUGS. This is an incredible shot, because, right to left, the musicians pictured are Bob Bailey, Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, and on saxophone, the writer-director-star of the single greatest film ever made, CITIZEN KANE, no less than the "boy wonder" from the Mercury Players back East, Orson Welles! He was then on the Fox lot shooting JANE EYRE. During the 1970s Welles became a staple of American TV talk shows, and more than once mentioned his sincere enjoyment of Laurel & Hardy films.
