Charlie Hall, far right, dances with Kay Deslys, who essays the title role in Charley Chase's finest picture, THE PIP FROM PITTSBURG (1931). Shown at left are conniving roommate Carlton Griffin dancing with Dorothy Granger, and Chase with blind date Thelma Todd. Right behind Chase is his double, Jack Hill, usually there to be glimpsed as a dress extra in hundreds of Hal Roach comedies. Near the film's end, while dancing, Kay Deslys, according to the cutting continuity, "lands a heavy punch on Charlie Hall's jaw and he does a knockout fall to the floor as Kay stands over him belligerently."
